The Great 2012 Cooking Extravaganza! Day 1

January 3, 2012 at 5:55 pm (Food) (, , , , )

Well, maybe not so much “extravaganza” as “experiment”, but what the heck, got your attention, right?

So, I missed 1/1/12 because I was sick, but my grand plan for this year is to cook something different, and theoretically something I’ve never cooked before, every day this year.  I’m trying to expand my skills, introduce some new foods to my family of picky eaters, and maybe figure out if I would actually like cooking every day as a job.  And yes, that’s on my list of options right now since I’ve been unemployed for ANOTHER year now, and I am going completely nuts!

So, Day 1, 1/2/12, here’s what I made:

Pasta salad:  Macaroni, Ranch Dressing, Finely diced carrot, Finely diced celery, Finely diced apple

Grilled chicken on my brand new George Foreman grill (thanks Mom!)

I know, it sounds a little boring, but for this family, anything that’s not chicken nuggets or burgers is an improvement!

See you tomorrow!

Hey! I realize this is somewhat off-topic however I needed to ask. Does building a well-established website such as yours require a massive amount work? I am brand new to writing a blog however I do write in my diary everyday. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!

I use WordPress, and I love it because it’s so easy. No coding knowledge required, they guide you through step by step. You just have to start writing!
